Relish Palace, Balwyn
After years of buying great takeaway Chinese
food from the Relish Palace in Balwyn, I decided to try eating in for a change!
I had dinner there with my gorgeous girlfriend and the food was deliciously and
absolutely massive!
The atmosphere, the drinks and the interior
design inside the restaurant were above average and could use a little more finesse.
However the service was excellent!
We started the night off with an entree
with Spring Rolls ($5.00).
My partner opted for the Fried Hor Fun with
Beef and Egg Sauce ($12.80) and I had the Nasi Goreng ($12.80). Both of these
dishes were tasty, but were so massive that we could not eat it all! The
proportions were ridiculous!
Overall, we enjoyed our time at the Relish
Palace, but it lost marks for its proportion sizes.

QPO, Kew
In the heart of Kew lies the iconic QPO Restaurant
and Café. QPO is a modern Australian restaurant and function centre and is open
for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I had dinner there with my gorgeous girlfriend and it was hard to find any faults with regards to the décor, the food, the atmosphere and the service. I had the delicious QPO Beef Burger ($20.00) and it featured tomato relish, caramelised onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon, aioli and chips. My partner had the Prawn risotto with baby spinach and cherry tomatoes ($21.00). She thought the meal was a delight!
For dessert the waitress suggested that we try the dark chocolate semi-freddo with hazelnut praline, chocolate soil, fresh mint and raspberry sorbet ($11.00). I was so glad that she did because the dessert was splendid and the rich chocolate soil just melted in my mouth.
While we were having this delicious feast, my partner had a Vavasour “the pass” sauvignon Blanc ($8.00) and I had a Latte ($3.50). The Latte that I received was cold and seemed to be burnt, however my partner loved her wine.
Overall, we loved our time at the QPO
Restaurant and Café and would love to go again.
